Swapped from a torch to an induction heater for rusted bolts and it changed my morning

Used to spend 20 minutes with a oxy-acetylene torch just to free up one frozen bolt on a truck frame. Got a cheap induction heater off Amazon for about 150 bucks six months ago. Now I pop it on for 30 seconds, the bolt comes loose with a ratchet, no fire risk or burning up nearby wiring. Finally did a full exhaust swap on a F-250 yesterday in half the time I used to take. Anyone else make the switch or still sticking with the old way?

I was totally one of those "torch or nothing" guys. Thought induction was just another gimmick. Tried a buddy's last month on a rusted control arm bolt and yeah, I was wrong.

Honestly, did your buddy warn you about the smoke smell? My buddy Pete used one on his old Jeep's leaf spring bolts and he said it smelled like burning electronics for like ten minutes. Said he still swears by it now though, even with the stink. Tbh I might finally give one a try after hearing stories like yours.

Tried it, returned it. Nothing beats the heat soak from a torch on thick frame bolts.
