Stopped in at an old shop outside Tulsa and the air wrench still runs

I had to pick up a part from a guy who runs a one bay shop off Route 66, place has been there since the 70s. He showed me his old Ingersoll Rand impact gun that he's had since 1982, still hits like it did new. What got me though was how he greases the fittings every single morning before coffee, no fancy torque sticks or digital gauges in sight. He said younger techs laugh at his methods but his truck has 400k miles on the original diffs. Has anyone else worked with a tool that old that just refuses to die?
