Hit 500,000 miles on my old 7.3 Powerstroke today
Was just rolling down I-35 hauling a skid steer and glanced at the odometer. Thing still starts up every morning with zero issues, just gotta keep up on the oil changes. Anyone else got a high mileage rig that still earns its keep?

Oh man, half a million miles! That's wild. My truck is barely at 180k and I already start sweating every time a weird noise pops up. I swear, if I ever hit 500k it'll be because I'm still trying to pay off the loan on it, haha. That 7.3 Powerstroke is legendary for a reason, though. Keep changing that oil and it'll probably outlive us both.

Half a million miles sounds impressive but honestly, how much of that is just sitting in traffic or highway cruising. Not exactly a torture test. Those 7.3s are tough but people act like they're indestructible gods of engines. Seen plenty of them blow up from neglect just like anything else. Your 180k truck is probably fine if you just do the basic maintenance and stop worrying about every little noise.
