Choosing to rebuild a 6.7 Powerstroke injector instead of buying new saved my shop $800

Had a 2015 F-250 in the bay with a dead injector on cylinder 3. The customer was quoted $1200 for a new OEM unit. I pulled it, sent it to a local rebuilder in Toledo, and got it back for $400 with a one-year warranty. Truck runs perfect now, no codes after 500 miles. When does it make sense for you guys to rebuild versus replace on these newer high-pressure systems?

Wait, you got a full year warranty on a rebuilt injector? That's wild for a part that gets beat on like that. Most rebuilders I've seen only offer 90 days if you're lucky. Makes that $400 sound a lot less risky.

That Toledo rebuilder saved my shop a ton on a 6.4 last year.

Only took a rebuild to make a Powerstroke run right, huh? Guess the factory forgot how to build them.
