TIL the Orange Julius at my local mall used to sell hot dogs and I never knew it for 20 years
I was digging through old newspaper clippings at the library in Dayton last Tuesday and found a 1978 ad for the Orange Julius at the Dayton Mall. Turns out they sold hot dogs, chili, and even a full breakfast plate back then, not just orange drinks. I must have walked past that spot 500 times as a kid and always thought it was just a smoothie stand. The ad showed a breakfast special for 99 cents with eggs, toast, and coffee. I found this while researching the mall's original store lineup before it started dying in the late 90s. Does anyone else remember Orange Julius locations having food menus, or was that just a regional Ohio thing?
