My uncle ran a kiosk at Century III Mall in 1988 and told me malls would always be around
He sold those little remote control cars and silly putty stuff, paid $900 a month for a spot near the food court, and swore up and down that people would always want to shop indoors. I drove past there last month and the whole place is fenced off, parking lot full of weeds, Dillard's sign still hanging there faded to pink. He still brings up how much he made in December of '88 like it proves something. Anyone else got a relative who called it wrong on the whole mall thing?
