Hot take: the security guard at my dead mall told me my pics looked "too clean" so I changed my whole setup
I shoot the Rolling Acres Mall in Akron about twice a year. A guard there named Darnell watched me set up my tripod and said the wide shots made the place look boring, like a real estate listing. He told me to shoot low, near the floor, and let the dust and dark corners show up. Now I use a 24mm lens at knee height and my shots actually feel creepy. Anybody else get tips from people who work inside these places?
