Why does nobody talk about the day I lost $400 to a fake bank text?
Two weeks ago I got a text saying my bank account was frozen and I needed to click a link to verify my ID. I was tired after a 10 hour shift and typed in my login and the code they sent me. Ten minutes later $400 was gone from my checking account. My buddy says it's my own fault for not checking the number, but I think the phone companies should be blocking these spoofed texts at the network level. Some folks say banks should reimburse you no matter what, others say if you hand over the code that's on you. Where do you all land on this, should the carrier, the bank, or me eat the loss?
