Unpopular opinion on password managers: KeePass vs cloud sync services
I was talking to a buddy who works IT for a school district, and he said cloud-based password managers are basically a honeypot for hackers. We got into it because I use Bitwarden and love it, but he swears by KeePass stored locally. He pointed out that the 2022 LastPass breach leaked encrypted vaults, and even if theyre encrypted, someone can brute force them offline. Does anyone here trust cloud sync over local files, or am I just paranoid? What do you use and why?

Cloud sync is convenient but that LastPass breach is a solid point. I keep my KeePass on a USB and don't trust the cloud with my logins.

Yeah, that LastPass thing spooked me too. I switched all my stuff off the cloud after that and just keep my passwords on an encrypted USB now, feels way safer.
