Rolling my eyes at password managers was a mistake

I thought they were too complex and a single point of failure. Learning about encryption and how they require multiple checks changed my view. Now I see they're really simpler and safer than remembering dozens of passwords. It's a relief, honestly.

That one master password still makes me nervous though. What happens when you forget it or the service itself gets a breach?

Isn't that the biggest worry? I felt the exact same way. I actually locked myself out once after a long vacation, and the whole recovery process, with the backup codes I had printed, was a wake-up call. Now I have my master password in a safe spot at home, plus my phone uses my fingerprint to open the app. It feels less like one single key and more like a whole set of them.

Wait, you actually got locked out after a vacation? @laura_wright that's my actual nightmare. Tbh the printed codes saving you is wild, I'd be so stressed trying to get back in.
