PSA: That coffee shop Wi-Fi in Portland nearly cost me my bank account
I was sitting at a coffee shop in Portland last Tuesday working on some stuff and hopped on their free Wi-Fi without thinking twice. Two hours later I get a fraud alert from my bank about a $400 charge at a store I never been to. Turns out the coffee shop's network was set up as a honeypot or something and someone was watching traffic. I mean I always thought I was careful but I didnt even check if the network was legit. Now I use a VPN every single time I connect to public Wi-Fi no exceptions. Has anyone else been burned by a fake public network like this?

That coffee shop Wi-Fi in Portland nearly cost me my bank account" reminds me of the time I yelled at my neighbor for stealing my home Wi-Fi (he wasn't, I just forgot my own password).

So @julia_lee, you just locked yourself out of your own router?
