PSA: My smart doorbell was sending data to a server in a country I didn't recognize.
Honestly, I just blocked the IP range at my router after checking the logs and it stopped completely. Has anyone else had to do something like this with their IoT stuff?

Wait, what country was it? I'd be checking that log file pretty close. How did you even figure out which IP range to block? I've got a couple of those gadgets and this makes me want to go look at my own router settings right now.

Check the logs for weird IPs.

Yeah, sandrat24 is right to ask about the country. I usually just sort the log by the number of hits and look for anything that's not from my ISP or a normal service like Google. That's how you spot the weird ones fast.
