Paid $200 for a password manager that did nothing special
Last year I signed up for this premium password manager called VaultShield after seeing their ad on a tech blog. It promised military grade encryption and autofill for everything. Cost me $200 for a yearly plan upfront. Three months in I realized it couldn't even sync properly between my phone and laptop. I kept getting locked out and had to reset my master password every week. Turns out the free version of Bitwarden or even the built in browser password manager does the exact same stuff. Has anyone else fallen for a flashy security tool that was just hype?

I spent $50 on a password manager once that turned out to be just a spreadsheet in a fancy box. Lesson learned the hard way.

$50 for a spreadsheet, @tyler_wilson, that's basically paying for the packaging not the product.
