Ngl, last Tuesday was the worst cybersecurity day I've had in years thanks to a single phishing email
I clicked a link that looked like it was from our IT department about 'password reset required' and within 10 minutes my whole work inbox was sending out spam to 200 contacts - has anyone else had a close call with a fake IT alert that looked way too real?

oh man, that exact same thing happened to me last year and honestly I was so embarrassed. what finally worked was setting up two-factor on everything and then doing a company-wide "this is what a fake IT alert looks like" email myself. I also started hovering over every link I click, even from legit sources, before actually clicking. took me a solid weekend to clean up the mess, but now I triple check anything that asks for a password reset. your mileage may vary but that hovering trick alone has saved me a few times since.

Hovering over links is the one thing that never fails me either.
