My roommate in college swore by using the same password for everything, said it was easier to remember.

I listened to him for a while, using one password for my email, social media, and even my bank account. Then a sketchy gaming site I signed up for got hacked, and my main email got flooded with spam and login attempts from Russia. I had to spend a whole weekend changing passwords on like 50 different accounts. Anyone else have a friend who gave them really bad security advice?

My cousin still uses her dog's name for every password.

That's just asking for trouble. My friend did that and got her social media hacked. They guessed it was "Bella123" in two tries. Now she uses a password manager. Way safer.

Actually, using a dog's name is pretty smart if no one knows you have a dog.
