My neighbor's comment about my Wi-Fi password made me rethink everything

Last Tuesday my neighbor mentioned she saw my network name pop up on her phone and joked it was easy to guess. That got me thinking, so I checked my router settings and realized I was still using the default admin password from 2020. I changed both the network name and password that night to something random. Has anyone else had a wake up call from someone else noticing something about their home network?

Isnt it wild how one small thing can make you realize how lazy youve been with other stuff too?

In my experience, the trick is to just pick one small thing and do it first thing in the morning, before you can talk yourself out of it. Gets the ball rolling for the rest of the day, your mileage may vary.

Here's the thing though - was it a specific task you put off that showed you the pattern, or did you just notice you were taking shortcuts on the easier stuff too? Because I have this one closet in my hallway that I let get FULLY out of control for like 6 months, and cleaning it up made me realize I was also letting dishes pile up and ignoring my inbox. It's like one sloppy area just gives you permission to let everything slide.
