Just hit 500 phishing emails caught in one month at our small company

I run IT for a 50 person manufacturing shop and last month our filter caught 512 phishing attempts. That number blew my mind because we only have 50 employees. Most of them were fake invoices trying to look like our suppliers. I figured we'd see maybe 100 a month tops but this is way worse than I expected. Has anyone else seen numbers like this at a smaller company?

Honestly the 500 number is wild but what really gets me is how many of those fake invoices probably looked legit. I've seen phishing emails that copy supplier logos and email signatures perfectly. The scary part is your filter caught them, but that means some might slip through. Ngl you should probably run a quick test yourself, send a real fake invoice to your team to see who clicks. Better to find out the human weak spots now than after someone wires 10 grand to a scammer.

That's honestly a solid idea though... people get too comfortable with filters doing the work.
