Hit 1000 unique passwords in my manager last week
I was always lazy about password reuse. Used the same 3 passwords for everything for like 5 years. Then my buddy pointed out that one data breach from a random forum I joined in 2018 probably exposed my main email password. I finally used a password generator tool and now I have over 1000 unique passwords saved. It scared me how many accounts I had with the same login info. Anyone else check their password manager count and get surprised?

Started doing the same thing last year and realized something nobody talks about - you gotta backup that password manager file somewhere safe. Not just the cloud sync either, like a real offline copy on a USB stick in your drawer. My buddy lost everything when his manager account got locked for "suspicious activity" and recovery took 3 weeks. He had no backup so he was stuck resetting every single password from memory. 1000 unique passwords is great but if you lose access to that vault you're basically locked out of your whole digital life.

I mean, if you can't remember your master password you've got bigger problems.

Yeah, you're right about that @johnson.daniel. It's funny because people think cloud sync is bulletproof until their provider's AI decides you're a bot and flips the switch. I actually had a similar thing happen with my photo backup service a couple years back. Whole library got locked for two weeks because I logged in from a different state. At least with passwords you can get into most accounts through email recovery, but man that's a headache with hundreds of logins.
I do keep a paper copy of my master password and a few critical ones in a fire safe now. Sounds paranoid but you never know when some update or glitch will mess things up. Your buddy's story is a good warning for anyone who thinks cloud sync is foolproof.
