TIL the hard way that load charts aren't suggestions

Back in March a veteran operator in Tacoma chewed me out for lifting a 40k lb transformer at 75 feet when my chart said max was 62. He said “you’ll feel it in the seat before you see it in the wire” and he was right. I ran a test pick at 60 feet that same week and the difference in stability was night and day. Has anyone else had to learn that lesson after a close call? What did you do different after?
