Saying no to a risky lift got me labeled as difficult

I've seen more sites pushing operators to cut corners for speed. It puts us in a tough spot between keeping our jobs and keeping people safe.

Got called "safety Sally" last week for questioning a frayed sling, lol.

Safety Sally" really hits home, @the_tara. Last month I asked my buddy why he wasn't wearing gloves while handling sharp metal scraps. He just rolled his eyes and said I was being paranoid. Turns out he got a nasty cut the next day and had to get stitches. What's with people ignoring basic safety stuff?

Have you ever noticed how people brush off safety warnings until something goes wrong? It's crazy that pointing out a frayed sling gets you labeled instead of thanked. I mean, that sling could snap and hurt someone (which is kinda the opposite of what you want). Maybe it's because people think accidents won't happen to them, so they ignore the risks. But calling someone 'safety Sally' is just a way to avoid dealing with real dangers. We should all speak up when we see something unsafe, no matter what names we get called.
