Had a beer with a retired operator who worked on the Space Needle
He said 'The machine doesn't lift the load, you do.' That simple line changed how I think about every single pick now. Anyone else have a moment like that?

Heard a similar thing about cranes... the operator is the real machine.

Yeah, the operator is everything. I saw a crane operator thread a tiny space and it was pure skill.
