Found a trick for leveling crawler tracks solo

Been running cranes for 15 years and always hated leveling crawler tracks by myself. Used to take 3 or 4 trips back and forth to the cab checking the gauge. Last month I tried marking a reference line on the track frame with a paint stick while it was level. Now I just eyeball the line from the ground and only need one adjustment. Has anyone else got a simple shop floor trick that saves them time?

You ever notice how most good shortcuts come from just paying attention to where you waste the most time? That paint stick trick is basically the same idea as putting your keys in the same spot every day.

Buddy of mine used a chalk line on his track shoes and got the same result in half the time.
