Back in '08, I rigged a 15-ton load with a single choker hitch because the old foreman swore by it.
The load shifted mid-lift over the new hospital site in Tacoma, and I learned that a basket hitch is non-negotiable for anything unstable, no matter what the old-timers say, so what's the one old-school practice you've had to change your mind on?

My first foreman in Detroit always used to say you could eyeball a 90-degree bend. I mean, idk, maybe it's just me but I've seen too many bad cuts from that.

Oh man, that reminds me of a guy who swore he could freehand cut drywall. The results were always a mess, lol.

And Lord help you if you had to fix his "measure once" cuts.
