A simple logbook change saved me from a near miss last month

I used to just scribble my pre-op checks in a notebook, but after a close call with a worn sheave, I switched to a detailed digital log with photos. For three weeks, I logged every tiny thing, like a 2mm groove on a wire rope. Last Tuesday, that log flagged a pattern of small brake adjustments, and we found a slow hydraulic leak before it failed. It took maybe five extra minutes a day but caught a problem I would have missed. Has anyone else moved to a photo log and found it caught stuff you overlooked?

Wait, you were logging a 2mm groove? That's wild.

Actually, that's pretty standard practice.

Just saw the 2mm groove thing and my brain blue screened. That's the kind of move you pull when you're either a total legend or you've completely given up on the day. Like, were you trying to carve a new fault line or just really committed to that pencil mark? Honestly, respect for the chaos.
