Why does nobody talk about how long a patch test actually takes to react?
Last Monday a new client sat in my chair and asked for a full color service, and I had to explain we needed a patch test first. She looked at me like I was making up rules to be difficult. I did the test at 2pm, checked her at 2am, then again at 2pm the next day, which burned two full days before I could even mix her formula. In school they told us 24 to 48 hours, so which is it, because half my clients think it's instant and the other half act like I'm stalling so I can charge extra. I get that safety comes first, but losing two days of bookings around every new client is brutal when I only work four days a week. Do you all stretch it a full 48 every single time, or do you have a different routine that clients actually respect?
