Watched my client's highlights process through my phone camera and saw what I'd been doing for 3 years
Honestly I was rinsing foils with lukewarm water for years because a senior stylist at my first salon in Boise said cold water shocks the cuticle, and nobody corrected me. Last Tuesday a client with level 5 brown wanted a soft caramel, and I snapped a before pic on my phone just for my portfolio. When I zoomed in I could see the toner was sitting uneven and blotchy near her crown, but in the mirror it had looked fine to both of us. Turns out my mirror lighting was hiding everything and I'd been sending people out with patchy toners for who knows how long. Now I take a phone pic before they leave the chair. Has anyone else caught a mistake this way, or is it just my old mirror setup?
