That $60 pair of thinning shears I bought off Amazon wrecked my haircuts for weeks

I thought I was being SMART saving money on shears, but the uneven blades left choppy layers on three clients before I realized. My coworker at the shop in Austin told me I looked like a toddler with scissors. Has anyone else had luck with budget shears or should I just stick to my $200 pair from beauty school?

Oh man, I feel your pain. I grabbed a "bargain" set of clippers off Amazon and my dog ended up looking like a hedge got into a fight with a lawnmower. Cheap tools just ain't worth the headache, period.

a hedge got into a fight with a lawnmower" lmao that's gold man. But I gotta push back a little here. Sometimes cheap clippers are fine if you know what to look for and you're not trying to do a professional job. My first clippers were like 25 bucks and they lasted me 3 years before the blade finally dulled out. Not everyone needs a $200 set just to trim a poodle's fluff once a month. Plus if you're just doing a quick clean up before the vet, who cares if it looks a little rough?
