Stuck between booth rent and commission, picked wrong one

I was torn between renting a booth at a salon in Dallas for $350 a week or taking a 50% commission spot at a chair down the street. Picked the booth rent because I liked the freedom and thought I'd bring my own clients. Two months in and I'm barely breaking even, most days I'm just sitting there waiting. The commission spot had a steady flow of walk-ins, that's what I should've done. Anyone else make a bad call on how to set up their workspace?

Man 350 a week for a booth in Dallas is actually pretty reasonable, you might be okay once summer hits.

Went down to Dallas last year to check out a booth space that looked decent online. Turned out the spot was right next to a dumpster that hadn't been emptied in like two weeks. The guy showing me around kept saying "the smell goes away once you get used to it, it's part of the charm." I mean maybe that works for some people but I couldn't even stand there for five minutes without my eyes watering. Ended up passing on it and found a place over by Deep Ellum for a bit more cash, no regrets though. That 350/week deal might be fine if you don't mind the extra seasoning in the air.
