Question about a color correction that went sideways in my home salon last month

I tried to lift out old black box dye from a client's hair with a 30 volume developer and it turned a weird orange-green mess that took 3 more appointments to fix.

Was it really that bad if you got it fixed in the end? Three sessions sounds like a lot, but at least the client stuck with you to solve it. Some people would have just walked out.

Huh. So did the client push back hard after that first appointment or were they surprisingly patient about it? I'm curious if you had to comp some of those follow-up sessions or if they paid full price for the whole repair job. Three appointments to fix one mistake sounds rough either way.
