Olaplex vs K18 on my most damaged client, night and day difference
I had a client last month with hair so over-processed it was snapping off at the shoulders, and I decided to do a side by side on her. Left half got the Olaplex treatment, right half got K18, same timing, same technique. After three visits over six weeks, the K18 side felt noticeably stronger and had less breakage when I combed through it wet. The Olaplex side looked smoother at first but didn't hold up as well between appointments. I know people swear by both, but for this level of damage, K18 just did more with less fuss. Has anyone else run a direct comparison like this, or do you mix them based on the client's porosity?

Did your client have any reaction to the feel of it, like could she tell the difference herself? I had a friend who tried the same split test on her own hair after a bad bleach job, and she said the K18 side just felt like it had more weight to it, less like straw. She also noticed her split ends came back slower on that side, which sold me on trying it for my own touch-ups. Your results match what she told me, so I'm taking this as a pretty solid sign.
