Just realized I was wrecking my blowouts with the wrong nozzle angle

I've been doing hair for like 6 years and always aimed the nozzle straight down at the roots. Last week a client at the shop in Austin asked why I was flattening her crown on purpose lmao. That's when it clicked - I was pushing all the volume down with that direct airflow. Switched to angling the nozzle more parallel to the section and my root lift doubled instantly. Has anyone else had that 'duh' moment with a basic technique they thought they had mastered?

Weren't you supposed to smooth from above for volume?

Flip it upside down and work from underneath for better lift.
