Just hit 500 clients this week and finally figured out my booking strategy

I've been doing hair for about 4 years now and this week I crossed the 500 client mark. What got me thinking was how I used to just take anyone anytime and ended up burned out. Now I block off Thursday afternoons for deep conditioning treatments only. It keeps my schedule sane and my hands from cramping. Anyone else hit a weird milestone that made you rethink your whole setup?

Wait wait wait, you block off an ENTIRE afternoon just for deep conditioning? Like that's your core offering for those hours? That's wild to me but honestly genius. I've been cutting for 6 years and I just hit 300 clients last month and it made me realize I need to stop taking walk-in trims during my lunch break because my wrists are starting to ache.

Wait, wait, you hit 300 clients? That's a big milestone, congrats! It got me thinking about when I used to book my haircuts on my lunch break back when I was managing a crew at a Big Lots years ago and I always felt rushed and my stylist clearly didn't dig it. But yeah, blocking off whole afternoons for one thing sounds crazy at first but if it makes your wrists feel better and your work better, why not?
