Hot take: press-on nails are not ruining this trade and I'm tired of hearing it
At the salon on Westheimer in Houston where I rent a chair, two of the older stylists spent my whole lunch break dragging clients who wear press-ons and the techs who apply them. Here is my issue with that: I did a full set of tips last Thursday and my client texted me Saturday saying one popped off while she was opening a box, but her $65 gel manicure from a strip mall chipped by day three and nobody calls that a scam. People want a cheap option that lasts a week, and press-ons do that job, so why do we act like it's a crime against the craft? Curious if any of you turn clients away for wearing them or just work around it.
