Hot take: I chose to use a demi-permanent color on a client wanting to cover 50% gray instead of a permanent one, and the regrowth line is way less harsh after 4 weeks.
Has anyone else found that demis give a softer grow-out on resistant gray, or should I have just stuck with the stronger developer?

Try a demi with 15 vol for stubborn gray, it blends way better.

Wait, only 15 volume on stubborn gray? That seems way too low to get any real lift or coverage. I've always needed at least 20 to make a dent in mine.

My cousin swears by that method too, said it made her grays look more natural instead of that harsh line. She used to go full 30 volume and it always looked kinda fake.
