Client Brought Her Own Bleach and It Was a Disaster
Last Saturday in Charlotte, a client handed me a box of drugstore bleach and DEMANDED I use it over her box dye. I explained the risk, but she insisted, so I did a strand test and it turned orange immediately. I had to stop and send her home with a gloss kit instead. Has anyone else had a client refuse professional product and blame YOU for the outcome?
That strand test turning orange right away is such a gut punch, you did the right thing stopping there. I had a lady pull a box of bleach from her purse once and when I said no she told me I was just trying to upsell her. She actually sat there and called the salon owner while I was mixing, saying I refused to do her hair. He backed me up but it was so awkward for the rest of the appointment. You saved her hair, even if she can't see it yet.
