Thought a $25 Patreon tier was a scam, now I get the hype

Last year I kept seeing this artist I follow plug their $25 Patreon tier that promised early access to timelapses and a monthly discord hangout. I figured it was just a cash grab, like paying for a mug that never ships. Finally in February I caved after they posted a free sketch breakdown that was way more useful than their YouTube videos. The timelapses are 4K and they actually talk through mistakes, not just show off. Plus the discord has been a goldmine for feedback on my own fan art, got three solid tips in one week. I've already re-upped for 6 months straight and cancelled two other subscriptions to cover it. Anyone else been surprised by a creator's paid tier actually delivering?
