The week my subscriber count jumped by 400 and I nearly deleted the video
Last Tuesday I uploaded a low effort video about my flooring tools and woke up to 400 new subscribers overnight. Turns out a bigger creator shared it in their Discord and called it 'the most honest tool review of 2024.' I spent the next three days panicking that I couldn't keep that momentum going, but also wondering if I should just double down on boring tool content. Has anyone else hit a surprise growth spike and felt totally unprepared for it?

Man, I used to think you had to game the algorithm or chase trends to grow. But this totally flipped my view. I had a similar thing happen with a video about organizing my garage shelves. Some random home improvement forum linked it. Boom, 600 subs overnight. I was so scared I couldn't repeat it I almost took it down. Now I just make what I actually use and care about. That flooring video was real. That's why it worked.

Did you just let yourself ride that wave or overthink it into the ground?

Don't overthink it. The wave is real but it comes with its own momentum, just keep making stuff you'd actually use and ignore the numbers. If you try to reverse engineer what worked that one time you'll drive yourself crazy.
