Shoutout to the YouTuber who broke down why my videos were dying in the first 30 seconds
I watched a guy named Mark from the Video Lab channel point out that my intro was just me saying 'hey guys' and then rambling for 20 seconds. He showed a clip of his own early stuff where he did the exact same mistake. I went back and cut the first 15 seconds of my last three videos, straight to the hook. My retention jumped from 30% to almost 60% on the next upload. Has anyone else tried trimming the fat at the start and seen a big change?
