My backup drive failed mid-edit on a client project
Lost four hours of work on a wedding edit last night when my external SSD just died with no warning. Has anyone else had a drive fail at the worst possible moment and how did you recover from it?

Your backup drive failed, so technically your actual backup was missing. The whole point of a backup is having a second copy somewhere else, not just the drive you're actively working from. Cloud storage or a second local drive would have saved you that headache.

Read somewhere that most people skip the backup part until it's too late.
