Hit 1000 subscribers on my gaming channel and it felt like nothing
I checked my analytics this morning and saw the number. I've been posting videos from my apartment in Denver for almost a year, grinding for that goal. It didn't give me a rush or anything, just made me wonder why I wanted it in the first place. Has anyone else hit a big goal and felt totally flat about it?

My cousin Sarah saved for three years to buy her dream car, a little red convertible. The day she drove it off the lot she called me and said it just felt like a car. It's like we're all chasing these finish lines we drew in the sand ourselves. You get there and the sand just looks the same. Makes me wonder if the wanting is the whole point, not the getting.

Know exactly what you mean... hit my first 10k view video last month and just stared at the screen. You build it up in your head for so long, thinking it'll change something. Then it happens and it's just another number on a dashboard. Makes you question the whole grind, like what's the next goal and will that feel empty too.

My buddy Dave had the same thing happen with his podcast. He finally cracked the top 100 in his category after two years of weekly episodes. He called me, totally quiet, and just said "Huh." All that work for a quiet Tuesday night staring at a chart. He said it felt like finishing a huge puzzle only to realize you just have a picture of a puzzle box. Makes you wonder what you're really building, right?
