Had a chat with a streamer who made me rethink my camera setup
Talked to a guy doing IRL streams in downtown Denver last weekend, and he said he just uses an old phone on a $10 tripod. Made me realize I've been overcomplicating my whole gear situation for months. Anyone else ditch the fancy stuff and go simpler?

My buddy spent like $800 on a gimbal and high end phone mount for his streams. Did one walk around the block with it and now it sits in his closet collecting dust lol. I still rock my iPhone 11 on a janky gorilla pod I got from a pawn shop for 5 bucks. Sometimes the best gear is the stuff you already own and don't have to baby.

Oh man, that hurts to read. Your buddy definitely learned the hard way that fancy gear doesn't make you a filmmaker. I'm all for keeping it simple too, my phone's been through worse falls than I have.
