Found a way to stop getting demonetized for "reused content" without making everything from scratch
So I do those compilation videos where I edit together funny clips from different sources with my own commentary over them. Kept getting hit with reused content violations even though I was adding value. Couldn't figure it out for months. Then I tried something simple - I started muting the original audio from every single clip and replacing it completely with my own voiceover plus unique sound effects. No mixing in any of the original sound at all. Passed the second review in 3 days after 4 months of appeals. Any other compilation editors found a weird fix like this?

Reused content violations even though I was adding value" - that part hit me hard honestly. I've seen so many creators get screwed over by that exact same thing. But wait, you're telling me just muting the original audio did the trick? Ngl that sounds way too simple to actually work, especially after months of appeals. Tbh I would've bet money that the audio wasn't even the main issue, thought it was more about the visual clips themselves being flagged. Kinda wild that YouTube's bot is basically just listening for other people's voices instead of looking at the actual content. Makes me wonder how many other channels got shut down for something this basic.
