Finally switched from weekly to daily uploads after one comment changed my mind
I was a die-hard weekly schedule guy for 2 years. Then a subscriber commented that they almost unsubscribed because they forgot who I was between videos. That hit different. I tried daily shorts for a week and my engagement jumped 40%. The grind is real but the algorithm is definitely nicer to me now. Has anyone else seen better results after upping their frequency?

Going daily is just trading one problem for another. Your subscribers might remember who you are now, but watch your retention drop off a cliff when they get burned out seeing your face in their feed every single day. Eventually your content quality takes a hit because you can't script, film, and edit at that pace without cutting corners. The algorithm loves frequency until it doesn't and then you're stuck in a grind where you can't slow down without losing all the new momentum.

Hang on, you think the algorithm "loves frequency" until it doesn't? That's a bold take. I've seen plenty of channels completely tank because they went daily and just started posting garbage. The viewers don't even get mad, they just stop clicking. And then you're right, you can't slow down because the algorithm punishes you for it. So you're stuck making worse and worse videos just to stay relevant. That sounds like a nightmare, not a strategy. I'd rather post once a week and actually have people look forward to it.

My buddy tried going daily with his gaming channel last year and by month two he was filming 3 videos in one take at midnight just to keep up. @matthewkim you're dead on about the retention thing, his regulars started skipping the uploads after they got buried in the feed. The worst part was when he finally tried to drop back to 3 times a week and lost half his views in a single month.
