Site manager said my drone shots were useless, now I map twice a month
I used to fly a drone at every job start just to show off progress pics. Last month on a retail build in Fresno, the site manager pulled me aside and said, "These look nice but we already have a guy with a camera. Give me numbers I can use." That stung. I switched to photogrammetry with ground control points and now I export stockpile volumes and cut/fill estimates. He actually asked for a third flight this week. Has anyone else had to pivot their whole workflow because someone called out the fluff?
