TIL the moon landing footage sync issue has a boring explanation

Spent 6 hours last night down a rabbit hole about why the flag ripples if there's no wind. Everyone's so sure it's proof of a studio shoot, but I found the actual NASA tech doc from 1969 that explains the pole's torsion spring. Took me that long to dig it up because every site just repeats the same 3-second clip. Am I the only one who thinks the skeptics never actually read the original reports?

...and honestly that's the thing, most people just watch the 3 second clip and call it a day. I went through the same mess trying to figure out the missing stars in the photos, turns out the film just wasn't sensitive enough for them. Once you actually read the camera logs and not some random blog post, the whole conspiracy just falls apart. Tbh the torsion spring thing makes total sense once you see the diagram, the flag was basically a metal rod with a sleeve over it. The ripple is just the rod vibrating after they twisted it into the ground. Ngl I think people just love the mystery more than the boring reality.
