The day I realized I was the one getting played in the JFK rabbit hole
I spent like 6 months convinced Lee Harvey Oswald was a patsy based on some YouTube doc from a channel with 300 subscribers. Then I pulled up the actual Warren Report PDF from the National Archives and found out the doc conveniently left out three key witness statements that contradicted its whole narrative. Has anyone else had that moment where you realize the 'debunking' you believed was just as biased as the conspiracy?

Yeah but the thing that gets me is how these creators know exactly what to leave out to sell you on their version. Like did you ever go back and check the footnotes in that doc or were you just taking their word for it? I've been burned so many times by channels that cherrypick one or two inconsistencies and build a whole house of cards around them. It's almost like they bank on people not wanting to do the heavy lifting of reading the actual government reports themselves. What was the one witness statement that finally made you go "wait a minute this doesn't add up"?

@holly_sanchez75 totally gets it. It was the "magic bullet" witness that did it for me. The doc made it sound like every single witness at the scene said the bullet hit both Kennedy and Connally at the same time. Turns out one of the Warren Report's own exhibits shows a Secret Service agent and two doctors who were right there saying they believed the shots were separate. That one thing made me re-read the whole damn report and I felt so stupid for trusting the YouTube guy over the actual source material.
