Spent $175 on a 'premium' EMF detector kit from a guy on a forum, and I feel like a total sucker
Back in 2019 I got really deep into the 5G tower stuff and some guy on a forum swore this $175 kit would pick up signals my phone could not see. I drove around my neighborhood in Denver for three weekends testing every pole I could find, and all it ever did was chirp near my own microwave. Turns out the guy was just reselling $12 meters from a hardware site with a fancy sticker on them. I lost the money and about 40 hours of my life, and worse, I argued with my brother at Thanksgiving over it. Now I mostly just read these threads instead of buying gear, which honestly has been cheaper for my brain. Did anybody else get pulled into a gadget like this, and what finally got you to stop spending?
