I used to laugh at flat earth stuff until I saw how they argue

A few years back, I'd just make fun of those videos and move on. Then I watched a two-hour debate on YouTube where this guy kept asking for one clear picture of the whole globe from space. The host couldn't give a straight answer, just kept saying 'NASA'. That was the moment I stopped laughing and started paying real attention to how these debates work. It's less about the facts and more about trapping people in their own logic. Has anyone else had a debate that made you stop and think, even if you still don't buy the theory?

My buddy got into a long talk with a guy about moon landing proof. The guy just kept asking where the stars were in all the photos, and my friend realized he didn't have a good answer ready. It showed how easy it is to get stuck if you only know the basic talking points.

Totally feel that, I got wrecked once trying to explain why the flag looks like it's waving. I went on a whole rant about inertia before realizing I was mixing up my science words, lol. It's so easy to sound like an idiot even when you're right. Now I just keep a space facts tab open on my phone for emergencies.

I used to think the moon landing photos looked fake because of the flag too. Then I read how they used a horizontal rod to make it look like it was waving in a place with no wind. That detail changed my mind completely. It's like what adam_thompson53 said about the stars, you need those specific answers. Now I always look for the engineering reasons behind things before I decide.
