I spent $300 on a device to block EMF from my smart meter

Bought this metal cage thing online after reading about health risks from the radio waves. It was a pain to install and my electric company sent a notice saying it messed with their readings. Some people say these blockers are vital protection, others call it a total scam that just makes meters work harder. Honestly I can't tell if I feel any different, but my bill went up $20 last month. Has anyone else tried something like this and had it actually work without causing problems?

My buddy did the same thing last year, got one of those Faraday cage sleeves for his meter. He was convinced it would stop his headaches. The power company actually came out and tagged his meter for tampering, he had to pay a fine to get it removed. His bills went up for a few months after too, the meter was apparently struggling to send a signal. He took it off and his headaches never changed, so he just wasted a bunch of cash and annoyed the utility people.

Man, that's such a perfect example of people looking for a complicated fix for a simple problem. I see it all the time with stuff like "detox" patches or buying special crystals to fix wifi vibes. It's easier to blame the smart meter than to check your sleep or caffeine intake, you know? Why do we always jump to the weird tech solution first?

Tried cutting out coffee for a week and my sleep got way better... turns out it was just the afternoon lattes.
