I finally had the worst week at my job as a dispatcher last March

oh man, I feel this so hard... last March was just an endless loop of crazy for me too, like every call was some kind of emergency and the phones wouldn't stop ringing. I remember one shift where I had three different drivers lose their tempers with me over stuff I had absolutely zero control over, just bad timing and bad luck piling up. by the end of the week I was so fried I could barely think straight, just staring at the screen like a zombie. honestly, some weeks in dispatching just hit different and leave you wondering why you even signed up for this...

Did they at least back off after they cooled down, or did management have to step in on that?

Oh yeah, management had to step in hard on that one. The guy was still pacing around the office red-faced like 20 minutes later, muttering under his breath about how the warehouse screwed up his load order. My supervisor finally just pulled him aside and basically told him to take a five-minute walk or go home for the day. I mean, it's wild how something that starts as a small mix-up can turn into a full-blown meltdown before anyone even gets a chance to explain. Like, one time I had a driver scream at me over a shredded tire that was not my fault at all, just bad luck on a pothole, and I had to just sit there and take it until my manager waved him off.
